Three rules. The rest is reasoning.

Light every pane with a color.

Each outlined region uses its colors once. A region of 3 panes uses the first 3.

Matching colors never touch, not even at corners.

Peek behind the glass

What is Chromaru?

Chromaru is a relaxing logic puzzle you solve with color, a calm brain break for phones and tablets. You light a dark stained-glass window one pane at a time: each outlined region uses its colors once, and matching colors never touch, not even at a corner.

Do I need to know the rules before I start?

No. Your first window is a tiny 3x3 board that teaches the rules move by move. The palette only offers the colors that fit the region you selected, so you learn by tapping, not by reading a manual.

Is Chromaru free?

Yes. All 4,000 puzzles and the daily are free to play. Ads support the game: a banner on the home screen and puzzle lists, an occasional ad after a finished puzzle, and an optional short video when you ask for a hint. No ad ever appears while you solve.

Is there a time limit, or lives to lose?

No. Nothing ends a puzzle early: there are no lives, no hearts, and no time limit. A clock keeps your time for your own records, and you can pause or leave and come back whenever you like.

Can I play in landscape?

Yes. Chromaru plays in portrait or landscape on phones and tablets. Turn your device and the board, palette, and controls rearrange to fit.

Can I play offline?

Yes. Every puzzle, the daily, and your progress live on your device, so Chromaru plays without a connection. Only ads and hint videos need one.

How hard does it get?

Six tiers, Flicker, Spark, Glow, Flare, Blaze, and Nova, grow by the reasoning each puzzle asks for, not just by size. Boards run from a 3x3 teaching board up to 8x8.

Does every puzzle have a fair solution?

Yes. Every puzzle has exactly one solution, reachable by logic alone, and each one is checked before it ships. You never have to guess.

What if I get stuck?

Pencil in color notes, undo as far back as you like, or start over. Assisted feedback warns you when a color touches its match, and Classic stays quiet until you find the contradiction yourself. For a hint, watch a short video and the game fills in one pane, fixing a wrong pane first.

Is Chromaru color-blind friendly?

Yes. Turn on a symbol for every color and a color-blind friendly palette in Settings or from the pause menu. Both are off by default and one tap away.

Do I need an account?

No. There is no account and no sign-up. Your progress, streaks, and records stay on your device.

Which devices does Chromaru run on?

iOS and Android phones and tablets.
